Transition University of Gloucestershire aims to involve staff and students in the transition of the towns where the university is based (Cheltenham and Gloucester). The focus is on the towns rather than university campuses in isolation because transition is rooted in place-based communities, while university students and staff tend to be transient or live elsewhere. Through contributing to local transition projects, students and staff can gain knowledge and skills that they can later apply to the communities they are part of. |
